Privacy Policy — CineCube: Color Match & 3D LUT
1. Executive Summary & Core Privacy Commitment
CineCube: Color Match & 3D LUT ("CineCube" or the "App") is built on a privacy-first, on-device color science architecture:
- 100% On-Device Media Processing: Every Reference Image, Target Photo, 20-Photo Batch, 4K / Apple ProRes 422 / Social Media Video, extracted color palette, and 3D .CUBE Look-Up Table ("LUT") you load or create is processed exclusively locally on your Apple device using on-device hardware acceleration. Your photos, videos, faces, and .CUBE files are never uploaded, transmitted, viewed, stored on our servers, or used to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- Zero Biometric or Facial Recognition Data: CineCube's "Portrait Skin-Tone Protection" feature operates purely via mathematical color-space analysis evaluated per pixel in temporary device memory. The App never performs facial recognition, facial geometry mapping, biometric identification, or storage of biometric identifiers.
- Zero Account or Login Required: You do not need to create an account, provide your name, email address, phone number, or physical address to use CineCube.
- Zero Advertising Tracking: CineCube contains no third-party advertisements, never requests cross-app tracking permissions, never accesses advertising identifiers, and never tracks you across third-party apps or websites.
- Anonymous Crash & Usage Diagnostics with Instant Opt-Out: To ensure 120fps photo and 60fps 4K video stability across iPhone, iPad, and Mac hardware, CineCube uses Google Firebase Crashlytics and Google Firebase Analytics strictly for anonymous crash reporting and aggregate product telemetry (Not Linked to Your Identity). You can disable all diagnostic and analytics collection at any time with a single tap inside CineCube → Settings → Legal & Privacy → Anonymous Crash & Usage Diagnostics.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
To avoid any ambiguity, CineCube never collects, accesses, transmits, or stores:
- Your personal photographs, raw camera files, reference film frames, or video recordings;
- Your custom .CUBE 3D LUT files or exported color palettes;
- Biometric data, facial geometry, voiceprints, or iris/fingerprint templates;
- Your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or Contacts list;
- Precise or coarse GPS location coordinates;
- Advertising identifiers or cross-app advertising profiles;
- Microphone recordings, camera live feed outside user-selected files, or browsing history;
- Payment card numbers, bank account details, or Apple ID credentials (all purchases are processed directly and exclusively by Apple Inc.).
3. System Permissions & Local On-Device Storage
3.1 Apple System Photo Picker
When you select a Reference Image, Target Photo, Multi-Photo Batch, or Target Video, CineCube uses Apple's out-of-process system photo picker. Under this iOS security architecture, the operating system grants CineCube read access only to the specific photo(s) or video(s) you explicitly tap and confirm. CineCube cannot browse or scan your broader Photo Library in the background.
3.2 Saving Graded Media to Your Photo Library
When you tap Save Photo, Save Batch, Save Cinema Poster, or Export Video, CineCube requests permission from the operating system solely to write your finished, color-graded photo(s) or video(s) into the dedicated "CineCube" album inside your local Apple Photos Library.
3.3 Local .CUBE LUT Vault & User Preferences
- In-App .CUBE LUT Vault: Custom 3D LUTs you save or import into the Vault are stored exclusively inside your device's local application storage. Deleting a LUT in the Vault or uninstalling CineCube permanently removes those files from your device.
- Local App Preferences: CineCube uses local on-device preferences solely to remember your onboarding tour status, remaining complimentary photo export count, cached Pro entitlement status, and your Anonymous Crash & Usage Diagnostics opt-out preference.
4. Anonymous Crash & Usage Diagnostics (Google Firebase)
Unless you opt out in Settings → Legal & Privacy, CineCube uses Google Firebase Crashlytics and Google Firebase Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to collect strictly non-identifiable diagnostic and usage telemetry corresponding to the following four Apple App Store Privacy Nutrition Label categories:
| Apple Privacy Category | Specific Anonymous Data Collected | Purpose | Linked to User? | Used for Tracking? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Crash Data | Anonymous crash logs, termination signals, non-fatal error categories (video import/export, photo export, LUT parsing, purchase verification), OS version, device model type, thermal state, available memory footprint, and active grading tool state at the moment of an error. | App Functionality & Analytics (diagnosing stability issues and encoding errors). | No | No |
| Performance Data | App launch warmup time, photo/batch render duration, and 4K/social video hardware encoding speed metrics. | App Functionality & Analytics (optimizing rendering and video export speed). | No | No |
| Product Interaction | Aggregate, non-identifiable feature events (such as which built-in cinema preset, camera log profile, grading tool, or export format was selected; onboarding completion; and anonymous paywall trigger source). | Analytics (understanding which studio tools and export presets creators use most). | No | No |
| Device / App-Instance ID | A random, app-scoped installation identifier rotated automatically upon app reinstallation. | App Functionality & Analytics (deduplicating crash reports and counting anonymous active installations). | No | No |
4.1 Privacy Hardening & Ad-Signal Prohibition
CineCube strictly disables cross-app tracking, disables advertising personalization signals, and prohibits analytics registration with advertising networks. Google acts as a service provider / data processor bound by the Google Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms. You can review Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
4.2 How to Opt Out of Diagnostics Anytime (1-Tap In-App Toggle)
You have complete, real-time control over diagnostic telemetry:
- Open CineCube and tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top-right corner of the workspace.
- Scroll to Legal & Privacy.
- Toggle off "Anonymous Crash & Usage Diagnostics".
When toggled off, CineCube immediately disables analytics and crash reporting collection and permanently purges any unsent diagnostic reports from your device.
5. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
CineCube offers optional Pro upgrades (Annual Studio Pass, Weekly Creator Pass, and Lifetime Ownership) managed entirely through Apple's official in-app purchase system:
- All billing, payment verification, currency conversion, receipt validation, and subscription renewals are handled directly by Apple Inc. under your Apple ID account.
- CineCube never receives or has access to your Apple ID, full name, billing address, credit/debit card details, or Apple Pay tokens.
- On your device, CineCube checks Apple's cryptographic entitlement verification API solely to confirm whether a Pro plan is currently active.
6. Legal Bases & Your Regional Privacy Rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, Saudi PDPL)
Depending on your jurisdiction—including the European Economic Area (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), California and other US states (CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, CPA), and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Personal Data Protection Law — PDPL)—you have specific statutory rights:
- Legal Basis for Processing: Our processing of anonymous crash and performance telemetry is based on our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in maintaining application security, preventing memory/rendering crashes during 4K video grading, and ensuring purchase transaction reliability, paired with your unconditional right to opt out at any time in Settings.
- Right to Opt Out / Withdraw Consent: You may stop all diagnostic and analytics telemetry immediately via Settings → Legal & Privacy → Anonymous Crash & Usage Diagnostics.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten"): Because all user media and LUT Vault files live strictly on your device and our telemetry is unlinked to any personal identifier, you can erase all local app data and reset your anonymous installation identifier at any time by deleting the CineCube app from your device.
- No Sale or Sharing of Personal Information (CCPA/CPRA): We do not "sell" or "share" personal information (as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act) with any third party for cross-context behavioral advertising or monetary consideration.
7. Data Retention & Security
- On-Device Media: Retained solely on your device in your Apple Photos Library or local LUT Vault under iOS hardware encryption for as long as you keep them.
- Anonymous Firebase Telemetry: Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days to resolve software regressions; aggregate analytics event data is retained for up to 14 months in accordance with standard Google Firebase retention policies, after which it is automatically deleted.
- Transport Security: All diagnostic payloads sent to Firebase and entitlement checks with Apple use TLS 1.2/1.3 encrypted HTTPS connections.
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Age 4+ Rating)
CineCube is rated 4+ on the Apple App Store and does not collect any personally identifiable information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK) in compliance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and GDPR-K.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new studio features, legal requirements, or OS updates. Any revisions will be posted at https://majidaljishi.com/en/projects/cinecube/privacy with an updated "Last Updated" date, and summarized inside the in-app Settings → Legal & Privacy panel.
